Carl Said:

I read this week's issue of the I-70 Scout (Tuesday, May 17th). There was a Letter to the Editor from someone who disagreed with an article by Douglass Claussen (Editor and Publisher of the I-70 Scout) on the subject of raising taxes. Such criticism is in keeping with our country's great tradition of free speech and open debate about important issues. Instead of encouraging the open dialog, Claussen spent 2/3 of a page tearing down the character of the author of the Letter to the Editor. Something is very wrong with this editor and his paper. An editor/publisher that uses his paper to demean the character of someone who disagrees, is behaving in the worst possible journalistic manner and his paper should be ignored.
